T shirt from peacocks caused blisters!

My boyfriend bought a top from peacocks and wore it. The next day he had an awful red blistery rash on his shoulder which we believed the T shirt caused as it is the only new thing that has been in contact with his skin. What should we do, take the top back and get a refund or write in and complain?

Did you wash it before he wore it?
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Was the rash anywhere else? Unless he was wearing it over one shoulder, or the material was different in that area, I can't see how it would just affect one area.

What did your doctor say about the rash?
    Gone ... or have I?

    Beat me to it

It is highly recomended that clothes are washed before wearing as they have chemicals on them to keep them looking good when they are in the shop (not that I do this)

Are his shoulders the only place with the rash, have you checked his back, as this should also have a rash if he was sitting down whilst wearing the T-shirt

You should ring the shop so that they can warn other people, if you wash the T-shirt and it still gives him a rash then you should them complain to the shop

  • Your local Council, Environmental Health should be informed, as well as the shop. Both should know if yours isn't the only complaint of this nature and Env H can check the stock.

yep more than likely chemicals on the shirt, they are used not only for visual effect but to kill any bugs on them before they are shipped around the world,

again yes wash and try again,BUT definitelty let the shop know so they can either withdraw or warn other buyers
