Principality Regular Saver Bond Issue 2
Rate 6% fixed. Max per month £500.
I've only just discovered that you can open more than 1 of these accounts, confirmed on the phone today. When rates are generally dropping, it's a good rate. This is the link:
http://www.principality.co.uk/Default.aspx?page=1019&lang=en
Likewise, not bad Monthly Saver account 5.25%, max per month £1,000.

But it looks like you have to visit a branch to apply ... and they're only in Wales

Don't wanna be pedantic, (well I do really) but Chester, Hereford and Shrewsbury are not in Wales.0

You can open it by post.0 -
I've opened everything by post with ID.0
-
They're sending me multiple application forms - so yes its postal and you can have more than one.
Thanks OP - in a climate of falling rates its nice to be able to put away a good chunk of money at a good fixed rate.

but you have to admit they are pretty close!steady__eddie wrote:Don't wanna be pedantic, (well I do really) but Chester, Hereford and Shrewsbury are not in Wales.0 -
I simply clicked on the link "How to apply" and was directed to a link that told me to visit a branch.
Primarily, the branches are in Wales - though I grant that some are in the "Welsh Borders".
Having been born & bred in the Midlands, I accept that Hereford, Shrewsbury & Chester are not "in Wales".... but they are hardly convenient to "most" of England ..... are they?
This is no time to be partisan. It remains that you have to be within spitting distance of Wales, to be able to visit a branch.
For those who believe we can apply by post ... a link would help ... thank you

Ring them on Monday and ask for forms in the post. That's what I did
Tel: 029 2038 2000.
It's not a case of believing you can apply by post. You CAN apply by post.0 -
Well I have applied by post and have this account. I didn't know I could open more than one tho.
I also have Scarborough and Leek. Would have just got 2 of these if I’d known.0 -
I'm going to open one of these. I nearly did it last month, but have waited to sort out my cash ISA first. I will telephone them on Monday from work.0
