Sainsburys own brand Biological Washing powder.. as good as Ariel?

Just doing my shopping list at MySupermarket. Was going to buy a box of Ariel as it's on offer, but swap n save suggests the own brand basics, which is MUCH cheaper. Is is as good (bear in mind my 10 y.o. son who spills all sorts of stuff down his clothes)?
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

We haven't tried it yet so couldn't personally vouch for it but I'm sure there will be much useful info regarding it (and the other basics products) in this thread:

I use it all the time. I have done since it was brought out. I can do a comparison for you, as I bought Persil small and mighty a couple of weeks ago as I had a £1 off voucher. I didn't find it got clothes any cleaner, than the basic. Also strangely, the basic biological is the only powder I have found that doesn't exacibate his exzcma (sp)Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Haven't tried the basics range, but Sainsbury's own brand is definitely as good as fairy. I have used the non-bio which comes in a blue box and would recommend it. Their 2-1 is good too, smells nice.0

Don`t know about Sainsbury`s stuff but I always use Asda smart price washing powder - dead cheap and gets clothes just as clean as the highly priced tv advertised stuff. I just put a bit extra in for DS`s work clothes, he`s a mechanic so you can imagine what they look like
Sometimes put in a scoop of oxy sain remover if I get tom sauce or such down front of tee shirt while stirring spag bol .Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Lidls own is very good, as good as the brand names, I only buy it when it's on special offer in Lidl. Whereas Aldis own brand is not very good.0

I havent tried Sainsburys basic but I use their own 2in1 bio washing powder (purple box) and found it just as good as anything else and smell lovely - its a lot cheaper as well! xxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000

All we ever use is store-brand bio powder, and it seems to be fine. Sainsbury's is the one we most often use, as the store is convenient.0

I currently use the Lidl own brand version of small and mighty liquid at £1.69 for 20 washes.0
