Has anyone had much success with Egg or Unison (Bank of Scotland) cards? Any tips or useful advice would be much appreciated.
I want to start the process now, better late than never, and I guess I am just a it concerned what I am getting myself in to.
I noticed that a lot of letters/posts say that you will no longer make the payments until the debt has been cleared, or you have come to an agreement. I have been advised that you should keep up the payments until the debt is settled, or the dispute is finished, to stop your credit file being ruined by these companies. Any thoughts on that?
    thanks very much

  • Hi NIDS,

I was about to send of the remider letter to them today and as it happens I received a letter from Natwest today. The letter they sent me is identical to the one they first sent me.

    see here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=24097669&postcount=982

The only difference is the date on the letter.

Now I can only guess that they don't have the original default notice, termination notice nor the CCA.

Looks like they are hiding behind the bush here or taking the pee.

What's my next point of action, any ideas, is it time to start a claim?
    Bank charges Reclaim:
    Capital one (c/c) = Won - £687.00: 8/2008
    Cahoot C/A = £1300 pending until court case:rolleyes:
    Natwest (C/C) = Caliming £276 = won £276 Feb 09
    Baclaycard = Not Started-Cahoot (c/c) PPI Won £520

  • Whilst waiting for the days to tick away on my 4 x CCA requests, I thought I would tot up the charges applied to my accounts - it comes to about £1600 over six years :(

Is it worth pursuing a claim for these items, as wont they be just refunded to my credit card account? especially if time ticks on and the accounts go into dispute via the unenforceability route?

Sorry for the maybe dumb question, buts it only once you sit down and add these damn charges up that you realise how much youve been scalped for.

You make the request and add a part saying you want them sent to your home address via cheque - not to be added to any 'alleged' balance.....

They may not listen, in which case you decline the offer and report to the FOS and they can make the bank send you a cheque.... :D

  • hey guys
so far i have sent CCA requests to BCW and Westcot, via recorded delivery on the 7th sept
i have recieved a response from BCW saying that my account number was incorrect, which it is not as i called to ask for account information and they found it straight away so i am ignoring that letter.
i also received a data request from westcot which i have decided to ignore as NID pointed out if they are not sure it is me then they should not have contacted me in the first place, and i am quite confident now that the debt to westcot is statute barred so i have sent them the statute barred letter.
to BCW i have sent a reminder CCA request stating that i will not be paying whilst in dispute blah blah blah.
have sent both via recorded delivery so we will see what happens next.

LOL, why post another link when the thread you're on is a more current version?:confused:

Tip: Look at thread name & page 1 of this thread!

Saw a bit in the Sun paper yesterday on how someone successfully got £8500 wiped out. Can't remember the card company. Anyhow it seems the person requested no PPI but was still charged it anyway.
