Tomato blight - what can I do with growbags?
Hi I wonder if anyone can please advise - I have grown some tomatoes in growbags but unfortunately they have blight so I have had to remove and destroy. I normally chuck 'used' compost in my compost bin but wonder will I be able to do this with the contents of the growbags or do I need to just throw away?
Many thanks

My understanding is you could use them for something other than toms or pots, say a quick crop of salad leaves. Then its either chuck them on bed you know won't have toms,or pots basically blight effected plants for a couple of years. Or if you don't want to risk it as mo said best to chuck.
But I reckon the weather we seem to be getting over the last few summer ie raining but hot, means the blight its likely to turn up anyway.
I have been vigilant this year and removed any dodgy looking leaves/branches ASAP on toms and pots, but it wasn't nearly as wet for us this year as last.
If you had really bad, widespread blight you may not want to risk it staying in the garden, depends how much you paid for the compost/growbags. Plud how much of a budget you are on next year.
