Hi guys,
Just checking through my funds now to see what kind of interest rates I'm getting, just to give an idea, I now have...
Bradford & Bingley - Quite a lot in an internet saver @ 1.61%
Principality - A lot split between an e-ISA @ 1.80% and 1.65%
Haliax - A bit saved in a fixed rate @ 3.20% for a year
... most of which I'm happy with, but the bulk of my cash is with Sainsburys who had an awesome rate, but it's now plummeted to a rather pathetic 0.51%!
So anyway (sorry for rambling a bit!) ...
I need to move that money out asap really, since 0.51% is pretty much a waste of time - can anyone please recommend an account I can transfer too, safe in the knowledge I can just add to it whenever I like - any recommendations would be great, as I may be tempted to move some of the other stuff about too, my B&B rate for example isn't great either.
Thanks guys

Many thanks missle! Some good stuff in there, the Egg one in particular seems like a great rate, shame about the 2% bonus but it seems hard to avoid now!
Is it wrong that I wish Icesave was still around? Loved the way they just made everything so simple - even the amazing interest rates aside, it was great to have such clarity with the accounts, no bonuses, no catches, no limits

Sounds from the interest rate that your Bradford and Bingley funds are in the internet saver 3. If you do nothing else make a direct switch to the esavings 7 (2.5%) following the instructions in this thread. Note the instructions relate to switching from the e savings 6 but apply equally to switching from internet saver 3.
But worth looking at other accounts also.I came, I saw, I melted0 -
Ahh, that's perfect, thank you! Just requested to open an e-savings 7 so fingers crossed it'll work out, managed to transfer some of my Sainsburys stuff too, result!

Looking into the Egg stuff now.
Thanks again guys0 -
Principality has launched the 2nd issue of their e-saver paying 2.85% (including a 1.2% bonus for the first 12 months).Principality - A lot split between an e-ISA @ 1.80% and 1.65%
Saffron BS Goal Saver pays 2.85% which does not include any bonus.God save the King!

Many thanks Chad - any idea how I can create it with my current login? It keeps asking for me to create a new login etc, or can I just give 'em a call?
Thanks0 -

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but is there even such a thing nowadays as a hassle free, 'clean' savings account? I've just bought a house and put all of my money into a mortgage, but since I'm limited to how much I can overpay, I need to get a savings account to go along side that.
Even ISAs now seem to have all sorts of rubbish bonuses and other things such as needing a certain current account etc. Is there any account I could get nowadays and not have to worry about keep moving it about etc?
Thanks0 -
Hi BlizeH
Many accounts these days come with an introductory bonus for a set period of time at around 12 months.
I am ok with this, so long as we remember to ditch after 11 months and 28 days or so......
The egg account you highlighted above I like, and My Egg account which has a rate of 3.25% is coming to an end very soon, and EGG wrote to me to say its coming to an end, and to look at alternative saving products, which I think was very good of them.
To answer a specific question -You want to know of an account that is a no frills no bonus rate account.
I can only comment on a personal favourite of mine - Yorkshire Buiding Society Internet saver.
It has been at 2.1% for around 2 years now, you get a ATM cash card with it too and you can manage it online.
I really like it - http://www.ybs.co.uk/savings/online/internetsaver/index.html
Have a nosey and see what you think!:rotfl:0
