Applying for BT Phone

I have my moving house completion date. 5th May.

How do i go about applying for the First time, as I am not switching

when can I apply for Talk Talk to provide my landline and how long does the process take to have me accepted and up & running?

Wondered if i should/could apply before that date?

Thanks

Lee

Talk Talk only provide line rental to existing BT customers. If you really want to move to them you would have to get BT to provide service first, wait minimum term ,and then move.

BT and TT line rental are now the same £11 a month, but BT include caller display, and TT want another £1.50p a month for it.

You might be better off staying with BT and getting your calls CPS to Primus for free evening and weekend calls.

You have to stay the min term if your taking over existing phone number its 3 months. New installation 12 months. BT may release you earlier if you pay cancellation fee.

Caller display is not optional but line rental is still £11 with BT with or without it.

To CPS to Primus call freephone number in link i gave!!! ;)

Nothing with BT is instant. If you have exchanged contracts, then phone BT and get things moving. It could take a while depending on the current connection status.

Caller Display IS optional with TalkTalk. BUT free with BT. What you really need is BT line rental and TalkTalk just for calls - but I can't see this option on their website anymore - can anyone confirm if they will take on calls-only customers?

I paid my deposit and signed my contracts today. and agreed a complete date.

They gonna check its ok with the Owner which it will as he dont live there.

Exchanging of contracts, when does that happen, is that between now and 5th May. So i cant apply to BT until i got the keys?

Once you have signed your contract, your solicitor will "exchange" contracts with the seller. Once this is done, you are both legally committed to the deal. But not before.

It's just that if you sign up with BT before exchanging contracts and then something went wrong with your house sale (we been there and got the T-Shirt...) you might end up paying for a telephone service in a house you don't yet own....

So wait until your solicitor says that you've "exchanged". Should be within a day or two of signing, but don't commit to anything until then!

    regards

They were still allowing you to CPS your calls but were charging 3.99p a month for Talk 2 if you did not take line rental!

The Planet Talk link is working fine for me.
