How hard is it to list after a holiday?

 <rant> We had to go away overnight, but there were loads of things that we needed to bid on, so set up goofbay sniper tool (hate using that but it is convenient).
Won most of the stuff and so was going to pay today.
The most time the sellers would have to wait was 3 days, of my allowed 7.
This morning I log on to find a message that says because I didn't pay quick enough I'll have to wait for it to be posted until the 16th because the seller is going on holiday.
I've had this lots over the past week. I usually wait until the end of the day to pay as we buy so much a day it's easier to do it all at once, and within hours of auctions ending there have been messages begging me to pay as they are going on holiday.
Why do people do that- presumably they know 10 days in advance that they are going. </rant>

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

That would really annoy me in fact I would have to stop myself from sending a shirty message. Most of us manage to use ebay with some intelligence, I stopped all my auctions a full 10 days ago as I go away tomorrow, it isn't rocket science.
I would probably, once I calmed down, email the seller and say could he get it into the post today as of course you are within the time limit to pay and was not aware that he was going away otherwise you would not have bid. I might also drop the hint that sellers should be sending within 7 days, or of his own despatch times in the auction say less than that (2 days is the default) you expect that he would want to sort something out for his own paypal protection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. From a sellers side is there an option to say you're going away?
Only beacuse I went on a listing today and it said you can buy this now/bid but this seller is away until 13th so there may be a delay.
There maybe an option as a powerseller to do that - can ordinary sellers do it?0 -
