Exmouth is an estuary and when the tide goes out there huge expanses of mud flats that you can walk on and there are loads of wading birds that you can see as well as sea creatures that the tide has left behind. If your boys are into nature and birds you could get a book from the library and see which ones you could spot0

Diggerland!!! It's in Cullompton so about 19 mils/25min away but straight up the M5 so easy.
https://www.diggerland.com you can even use Tesco clubcard rewards to book tix although if you're going tomorrow might be too late if you can't print a voucher.0 -
Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary has free admission and parking.

Nice countryside nearby too!0 -
I'd go to the donkey sanctuary and Crealy Adventure Park.
My favourite thing to do there is to go into Exeter and hire bikes from Paddles & Saddles.
www.sadpad.com It's on the river and you can cycle for miles - all flat! along the river. there are a couple of pubs along the way as well. They do all sorts of bikes and seats and trailers so there will be something for your little one.
When our boy was 6 we did 14 miles one day. We're not exactly the most active of families though he certainly is an active kid!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

we went a couple of weeks ago and had a fab time next to the haven site there is country farm park thing which we were told is very good. We had a fab three hour fishing trip from the beach near the train waggon cafe our little girl aged three enjoyed it and we also got to keep the fish we had caught0

i can recommend a boat trip along the jurrassic coast .....2 1/2 hours take your own food etc or buy for good prices on board with a great commentary on the rock formations and wildlife....all for £7.00 for an adult and £4.00 a child.......0 -

www.stuartlinecruises.co.uk do the Jurassic Coast cruises the OP mentions. I don't work for them, but do give out their leaflets to my guests.0
