Does Compatibility View (in between the address bar and refresh button) not sort your problem out?

I just use a P2P program, and transfer the downloaded MP3s to my phone.

    Did you not read this?

Sorry no - didn't - had a little panic when I was reading it as it looked difficult and missed that bit! Thanks:rolleyes:

Tried the compatibility thing but it didn't work. the Comes with Music thing is a programme on my PC which then connects to net, I think if I want it to work then I do need to go back to Internet Explorer 7. But as you might be able to tell - ahem - I don't know much about computers! Do you think I am being too brave trying to do it, and will I lose bookmarks or anything else that i have set up on my PC? I'm worried I am going to mess up my internet access etc
    Thanks

Bookmarks is the same as Favourites and (as per the quote in post #11), they will be preserved.

you'll be fine, go for it! If in doubt, set a restore point first (Start > Help and Support > Undo Changes to Your system with System Restore > Create a Restore point) (actually it will probably do this for you automatically, but it won't hurt to do it twice. with a restore point set, you can easily revert to your setup as it was before making any changes.

P2P programmes are (mostly) used for illegal downloads which aren't up for discussion on this forum.

As well as a System Restore point (good idea) you can also very easily do a manual back up of your IE Favorites.

    Just Google for:

    back up IE favorites vista

Other than that you shouldn't run into any problems. Removing IE8 will automatically leave you with IE7.
