Can I claim again?

Hi,

I have previously claimed for my bank charges and got them back from the Halifax (totaling about £1,200). Does anyone know if you can claim again for ones taken since?
My original claim was a few years ago and they carried on claiming the £30 or so everytime I went over until about a year ago when they jumped on the bandwagon of reducing the charges like everyone else!! I certainly havent had as many charges as before because I was being careful, but, I have had a few more of the £30 charges before they were reduced.

I dont think I can claim again but I was just wondering!

any help would be brilliant.

thanks

    Hi Lukey84

Of course you can claim these additional charges back, the fact that you have claimed before is not an issue.
Just send the Prelim letter then the LBA then issue proceedings, if you mention to them on letter two(LBA) that you will involve the FOS you may get lucky

    Abbey Claim 2 - Won £990 :rotfl:
Abbey Claim 3- £1157.80 + Interest @0.25 per day (LBA)

Do you know all the charges that you have?
If you do then with your first claim you would have sent in a letter asking for the money back, so that is the first thing you have to do.

    Hi Natwest,

I dont understand what you mean! I have successfully claimed about £1200 back about 3 years ago and have had a few charges since. It is only probably a couple of hundred quid, I havent got the actual figure yet. Do you mean that I just need to do everything as I did before as if I havent claimed before? Do I have to mention that I have succesfully claimed before?

    thanks again

    Hi Lukey84

I understand that you have claimed before (I have twice with Abbey and now on my third)
If you have a list of all your new charges, just commence the way you did with your other claim.
In short terms this is what you need to do.

Add up all your new charges using the calculator on here with the 8% interest added(you can use this as a bargaining tool later on, don't worry for now.

Send your prelim letter stating you would like all of your charges back from date to date including the 8% interest, give them just 14 days t reply with a full offer.Make sure you send a copy of your statements and copy of the charges calculator to them and send it recorded.

After the 14 days you would then send them a"LBA-Letter Before Action" if they do not reply ( don't worry about that part for now).

I will subscribe to your thread and keep an eye out for you-give me a shout if you need anything

The process is the same as before apart from the fact that they are unlikely to payout due to the OFT test case issues.
