Finally got this in the right forum! Phew...
My mum now needs to know what happened with her contract when they changed from Toucan who she was with to Pipex..She is leaving them but needs to know if a new contract took place when they were taken over, does anyone know?
She had been with Toucan for 3 and a half years when the takeover happened....

No, the contract should have continued under the new brand, unless she changed her package. Pipex takeover was approaching a year ago now I think anyway? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Her orginal joining date was 14/10/05 and she only changed her package to drop broadband when I moved out which would have been about Sep 2007. So presumably she'll have a 12 month contract till September so as long as we give notice this month it should be alright?0 -
No, it's not a 12 month renewable contract as far as I know. If it commenced 9/07 then it would be out of minimum term 9/08 (assuming a 12 month contract). So she can give notice now.
But why don't you just check with Pipex if unsure? No free lunch, and no free laptop

My mum tried to contact them about a few things but they were rude and patronising to her and as my mum said made her feel like an idiot as she doesn't know much about computing....My mum even tried to get me put on the account so I could speak to them but they said no it couldn't happen... I rang them and didn't get much further so I used their new streamlined customer contact form....Put it this way my mum is still waiting for an apology....0
