yeah, apparently this warehouse is intended to be used as an outlet for some of the stock that stores are being forced to clear at such low prices during the RO clearances like that a few months ago. Instead they will ship some of it to the clearance warehouse where they might get more money for it.
So good news if you live in Corby but bad news if you're an RO bargain hunter.
The new catalogue is out Jan 22nd so expect lots of RO discounts to follow afterwards, of course the discounts will gradually be increased as the weeks go on. (A lot of what is in the Jan sale is "going-RO" stock which won't be in the new catalogue).student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -
I don't understand the logic of that, really.
If you want to sell loads of old catalogue stuff, surely it's better to push it through 100s of shops than one warehouse?
OR to sell it online through their existing website.
The only real logic for selling through one outlet is that people who come along wanting a kettle (for example) will have to pay full wedge for it, rather than being able to get a bargain. But as they made the RO stuff so hard to get hold of, even that bit of logic doesn't really work.
Ah - third stab at logic - it saves cluttering up the stores' stockrooms will old tat. Maybe that's it. ???0 -
and mabey the fact they getting the warehouse free of charge means they make more profit on the itemsThose we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,

I have just been and found some items at a reasonable price but not alot as good as the RO sale but I bet the stock changes so needs to be a regular visit. I bought the Epson 1670 Photo scanner for £40 and several toys for sons birthday 1 being the Laser Combat reduced from £42 to £12. As stated before mostly 50% but some 75% reduction from original price but these are old stock so maybe not be so good a bargain if you shop around also they are called Clearance Bargains.Look after the pennies and the pounds will spend themselves0

Be careful what you buy here.
We went and had a look being only down the road, a long line of people seemed to be at the returns area.
I got a set of BT walkie talkies and a couple of other bits. Some seem to be good value, some not.
The WT's didn't work, took them back and got them replaced, they didn't work again, took them back yesterday and asked them to charge some new new ones for a while to see if they worked before I took them away, funnily enough, they didn't work either. After this the assistant admitted they had "loads" of them returned not working, which was funny because the first time I asked when I took the first pair back, only one other set had been returned!
Also my other half, saw them taking returned items and putting then back on the shelves near to the returned item desk, more sort of racking I suppose.
If you have a good look around, quite a bit of the goods appear to have been returned. I suppose they just keep sending them out until someone can't be bothered to bring them back.0 -
I would say this is someone who has bought a few lot's of end of line stock from the likes of Argos and not Argos themselves, it's quite easy there are loads of wholesalers who will offer you the stuff, take a look here.. http://www.gemdiscounts.co.uk you will see that stock is graded soem working some not working, you pays your money you take you chance.
