hang on there!!!

Just because an e-mail says its from commts.bt.com and btcomms.com, doesn't mean it originated there! You can spoof an e-mail from any domain in the world, even moneysavingexpert.com

If you're ever unsure of an e-mail, forward it to the company's customer service and they'll always get back to you with an answer - I'd even suggest ringing them up too.

Just spoken to BT the top address is a genuine marketing e mail and the bottom one is a spoof email trying to get my account sign on details etc etc

If you ever have any doubt that an email has come from BT you DM me the details and I will check it out for you.

I am the official company representative of BT. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

Also let them know the content of the e-mail if you're unsure - as I said above just because something comes form accounts@hsbc.com with hsbc.com being a genuine domain - it doesn't mean it's actually from HSBC. You can spoof a "from" address on an e-mail account very easily, so you still need to be careful!
