Can someone tell me what the basic spec is of one of these?

Someone's selling one for £20 (with XP). Needs a new power cable though - how much would one of these cost to replace?

And would this laptop be any good for internet browsing?

I have an Aspire 1363 which is probably a little newer - not sure what all the other differences are though but I like mine.

Is it really just the power cable or is it the complete power supply? You should be able to pick up a power supply for under 50 quid.

It should be fine for internet browsing although you will need to add a wifi card if you need wifi.

    Cheers

    James.

    They just said power cable.

How much would it cost me to make this useable for the Internet (using a wireless router)?

Well, power cables are just a couple of quid each, especially if you buy from a computer fair.
As to your other question, personally I'd want to know why they're asking so little for it?
If it's in good working order then I'd have thought it was worth around £100 - £150 depending on the details of its spec.
£20 is a worryingly low figure IMHO bvut maybe I'm being a bit suspicious.
Bear in mind that XP as an operating system is still preferred by many to Vista that alone would not bring the price down.
How much detail of its spec do you know and have you operated it to check all is well?
Many of the parts can be replaced but first you need to know which ones might be duff in order to decide if the whole thing is a good deal.:o
