Looking for cheap Manchester accommodation for November this year would prefer budget hotels but not that bothered. Have looked on Last minute and Hotels com but couldn't find anything for my budget.

Any recommendations for Manchester accommodation just need a family room doesn't have to be luxury or a 5 star hotel a simple bed and breakfast in Manchester would do just fine.

The short weekend break should not cost more than £150 as thats my budget although I could stretch too £200 if there is facilities such as a swimming pool and amenties like outside sport; tennis court, football pitch and golf etc.

Update: Have booked a hotel in Manchester at www.manchester-hotels.net so thanks for your replies with helping me find acommodation in manchester.

  • Also ensuite rooms would be an advantage and near to all local attractions in Manchester too.

Which attractions do you want to be near?

For Old Trafford you could go to the Etap basic but cheap! http://www.etaphotel.com/gb/hotel-6003-etap-hotel-etap-hotel-manchester-salford/index.shtml

    For the main shopping area:

And right in Canal Street, it'll be noisy right in the centre of the Gay Village, but good fun, and probably the cheapest you will find! http://www.eazysleep.net/
  • Thanks for your reply Emma. Have had a look at what you have given and will have another closer look at hotel sacha in Manchester looks like a very luxury hotel accommodation for our holiday.

Sasha's is a dump, I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It is cheap though.

There are several travelodges and a couple of hotel ibis in the city centre, could be worth a look

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Salford Quays, would definitely recommend it, though it doesn't have pool & sports facilities etc. It wasn't too expensive, was very clean & staff couldn't have been more helpful. Very close to Man U stadium, Lowry Centre ( with the outlet shops) and Imperial War museum & several restaurants ( eg Cafe Rouge, Bella Italia & more) within a few mins walking distance. Easy to get into the shops in the centre by tram. Self service eat all you like breakfast included, free parking on site & kids under 18 free in parents room.

For Central Manchester you won't get much cheaper or more convenient than the Central Travelodge

    http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/hotel_overview.php?hotel_id=153

There's also a Premier Inn in Portland Street

There are a few other ones for both chains in other locations thoughout the city. As Rosy says, Salford Quays can be a good area to stay in if you want to go to the Lowry, Imperial War Musuem or Old Trafford.

Premierinn.com mate book for 2 nights and 21 days in advance and you can get a lot of manchester room nights for £29 a night for the room. Kids eat free breakfast as well.

Rooms are pretty good as well with ensuite.

Before you go anywhere near a Manchester Travelodge read the reviews for each one on www.tripadvisor.co.uk .........the Central one is the worst! Premier Inn next to Victoria station isn't brilliant but certainly an improvement on the Cental T/L.

There have been a few new hotels opening up in the city centre recently. There is Park Inn that is a really nice place and only a minute or so away from Manchester.

There is also a Crown Plaza and a Macdonald Hotel.

I have also stayed in Jurys Inn in Manchester and if you book early enough you might get a few bargains.

    Hope you find somewhere.

  • So pleased your keen to visit this fantastic city. As listed, there are some great hotels and accomodation mentioned for you. http://www.whathappenedlastnight.net/manchester/hotels/hilton%20chambers here is an alternate place to stay, this is in the Northern Quarter where you will find lots of entertainment, great pubs serving all the continental beers plus real ales. The Northern quarter is a stone throw from the Arndale centre and City Centre. Type into google Northern quarter Manchester and a lot of different types of accomodation will be seen.
Manchester has a lot to offer, whether its history, shopping, bars and restaurants or simply just to chill out. The Trafford Centre is a bus ride away which costs not much more than a couple of quid return, that itself is a day out. www.mosi.org.uk is another great day out, its also free. Also stated in a previous post, the Imperial war museum north.iwm.org.uk
There are many many more attractions which just needs a quick google and bobs yer uncle.
