Want to check whether quotations for a new combi system are reasonable (location is berkshire);
- Currently only old imersion heater installed - to be removed along with old water tank in loft (no heating - although gas into property)
- New gas line from meter box to rear of house (~20m)
- Supply and fit WB 30si combi boiler
- Supply and fit 7 radiators
- Supply and fit chrome towel rail
- Wireless room stat
- Magnaclean and scale preventor
Quotes have been in the range of ~£5500 - which seems a bit steep, but maybe I am just being a bit too hopeful?
Cheers.

Good afternoon: you are being a bit too hopeful;)....quote is in the right ballpark for the southeast for the job as described and installed following manufacturer's specification. If you are going with a WB insist on a CDi as it is a superior boiler and shouldn't add much to the quote. See if you can get 5 years parts and labour warranty on the boiler.

Cheers Canucklehead,
Which model from the CDi range would you recommend?
Its a 2 bed + 1 bathroom property (although we are thinking about extending into the loft in the future.....0 -

Hi
I have no idea how much a new gas pipe costs so it's difficult for me to compare but we are in Surrey and had quotes in recently for very similar work (minus the gas pipe) in our 3 bed, 1 bath semi and I'd say that your quote is on the high side in comparison, I can only assume that running a new gas pipe is expensive?
Whereabouts in Berkshire are you?0 -

Good morning: the 30 CDi but if you fit another bathroom/shower room in a future loft conversion this puts the project in a new light. A 30 kW combi will have no difficulty heating the property but would struggle supplying 2 or more simultaneous draw-off points eg. 2 showers, bath and shower etc.

Good morning: The OP's property doesn't have gas central heating therefore the quoted price entails fitting a system from scratch ...a labour and material intensive job. Running a new gas supply can be very pricey with cost dependent on the site conditions, the length of run and the diameter of pipe required....large combis can be very gas hungry when running on full rate. The mains water supply might also need an upgrade..this would be determined by a RGI during a site survey i.e tests mains flow/pressure and determines requirements for the specified boiler.
The OP needs to check that the RGIs are quoting for the same job specification.
