abbey electron card same as debit card?

Hiya daughter just opened an abbey account with an electron card. Just owndering can she use this the same as a debit card? Can it be used online and in shops? Ta

Can be used in most places and is like a debit card but some terminals don't accept it due to the way electron is setup.0

I have one of these and personally never had a problem using it in store or online.
Admittedly I only really keep it for booking Ryanair flights:rotfl:0
