Do people take presents to hen parties?

I am off to a hen weekend tomorrow, quite a posh one at a health farm (sorry bank balance...)
Do people take presents for the 'hen'?

No! Ive never heard of taking presents for the hen on a hen party! The wedding is the time for presents! I guess if you are very close to the hen - like very best friend, sister or bridesmaid then you could always take some daft things along to help the party along (from somewhere like Ann Summers!) but other than that no, dont take anything except a sense of humour and lots of energy for a great night!

Normally there is a collective whip round for some 'saucy' things for the table, or items for the bride-to-be to wear, but I have never been to a hen-do and taken a gift as such.

I was going to say "money for drinks", but as it's a health farm then just yourself! :D

  • I've never taken a gift to a hen party, i wouldn't expect gifts at my hen party, having family and close friends there is enough.

It maybe depends on the type of party. I was given presents at my bridal shower. I also gave each guest a "goodie bag" (mini bottle of fizz, chocs, mini teddy bear, bubbles). My bridesmaid hosted lunch, then we went to a pottery workshop (painting on china) and a cocktail bar.

If it's one of those pub crawl type hen parties, I would guess you just bring money for drinks.
