ID documents lost - should I worry?

Mid-June I opened an online saver with a BS with whom I already have an ISA. They asked for proof of residency and proof of ID but I put this down to the fact that I'd recently moved, although I had informed them of my new address four months ago.
I sent an original current account statement and a photocopy of my passport from their list of acceptable forms of ID. These were received and my account duly opened and it's been up and running for about 7 weeks.
When I hadn't received my ID back by mid-July I contacted them to be told they were sent out in batches and give it a few more days. I contacted them again to be told that they were posted out, with all cleared ID from June, on 24 July. It's now two weeks later and still no sign of them.
If an unscrupulous person gets hold of my documents can they be fraudulently used. Obviously my current account statement has my full bank account number and I'm not happy that a copy of my passport is floating about either. Should I worry?
I'm not sure where to go from here.

Photocopy of passport is probably one to worry about - I would contact passport agency on phone and ask for guidance.
The bank statements are less of an issue I think but best to keep an eye on your account and if its a current account statement which is missing, just keep little money in it - less than £500.
Worth checking with BS as to where they sent the items, to old address or new one? Did they send it recorded or not?0 -
Thanks OneADay. I've phoned the BS again, confirmed my address and they now tell me that my ID documents had got filed into my original file instead of being sent out to me - I wonder how come they suddenly found that out
. I was assured they would be sent out to me today, I asked if it would be recorded delivery but told no, they send out first class.
Good to know I don't have to worry but I do wonder if my money is in the right place!0
