Can anyone tell me what my rights are regarding faulty goods please.
I bought a sat nav from Currys on the 30th of June, it has stopped working. I know my receipt says that if it goes wrong within 28 days then they will refund or replace automatically (not a very long time)
But if it's outwith the 28 days they will "provide a promp and professional resolution" whatever that means? I'm assuming that it will probably mean a repair job, but then that means I will be without my sat nav for an undisclosed period of time.
I really need to have it for my job, can anyone tell me if there is a time limit they have to stick to for this or better still if I can dmand a refund as I really need to get another one ASAP
Thanks

Think it is a repair after the 28 days.

As requested!
What make of SatNav is it?Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

I think Garmin Satnavs are just exchanged over. I may be wrong, it's a long while since I've seen one, but you should be able to just swap it. I wish I could see our returns database from home
The fact it was the last one won't affect things.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

That would be great if they did just swap it over, I don't even mind having to add a few quid in to get another one if they don't have any left at the price I paid. Just really can't do with not having one.
Thanks so much for your help :beer:0 -
No problem. My hoarding of repair route information often comes in useful!
(Best hope I'm right though)

Cool
Bloke's mad as a hatter but he apparently knows what he's talking about with Currys stuff.
