A problem with an online order. Online, it gave me a confirmation order, but in the same breath, said Credit Card invalid. So I had to call an 0870 (charging you) number, and was told that I had to ring back at quarter past the hour because that was when the next load of orders came through.
I argued that because it was a problem with their system they should, out of courtesy, be calling me back, which they wouldn't do. So therefore I have to ring again on another charge number 0870 again, to find out whether they received my order.
The system should not give you a confirmation order and also say on the same order page that the number is invalid. I know I typed it in properly, and am a little narked that they couldn't ring me "because that's not how it works", and with no apology. "If we rang everybody back, etc" was the answer. Then they should give you a freefone number once you have called.

It seems wrong I know, but with customer service like this perhaps you should avoid them, or perhaps it was just the person you spoke to. But today rarely, I find a company will call you back, BUT if they ACTUALLY DO then your honoured!Regards,

use a direct debit card here myself and never had any problems with them including with returns etcmortui non mordent0

perhaps it is credit cards that they have problems with?
I use my credit card all the time with lots of online stores, and twice I have tried to order something with this company - once ages ago, had the same problem, and decided not to go ahead with the order after receiving a letter through the post saying that the credit card was invalid.
(At the time I thought it was a bit of a godsend, meaning I shouldn't really be wasting my money!)0
