Mine is naturally mousy brown too, I don't like it at all and after flirting with a range of different combinations of shades sice the age of about 14 (and spending a fortune at the hairdressers) I have found that the Nice n Easy 'natural darkest brown' and 'darkest golden brown' are the ones I tend to alternate between.

I don't like the flatness that some all over colours can give, but because I swap between the two, when I dye my hair I make sure the roots are properly covered but then don;t try too hard with the rest of it. (I know, I know that makes me sound like a scruff but it doesn't look like it, honest! It's a tip from a hairdresser friend!) It gives a subtle highlighting effect that seems to work for me.

BUT! i am now paranoid that i look awful..i know 1 person but hey i am like this!..have thought a long time about tryin to get some slightly darker blonde streaks through it and wondered if i could do it myself..would it go green?!..look odd?

What colour is your hair and do you like it?
    Thanks for the replys!

Firstly DON'T listen to anyone who makes comments about your hair. Us women all think we're experts and at the end of the day if you like it then thats good enough. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

I personally think blonde hair looks good on most people. I'm naturally mousey but have been light blonde for a long time. I love it and although I use bleach it actually looks very shiny and natural, before I bleached it looked lifeless, dull and boring. I use good conditioners and toners so it doesn't look peroxidey (iykwim).

My hair is naturally mousy but from the age of 18 I dyed it a natural looking blonde. Got bored a few years ago and decided to go auburn (freckly skin, grey-green eyes) and the first attempt was just wrong!! Now I use Schwartzkopf Live Red Passion and I love love LOVE IT, plus I receive regular complements from men and women of various ages. :D

  • I think i am really lucky with my hair colour, everyone loves it. It's kind of brown, blonde and red, all natural and curly, sometimes when i can afford it, i have caramel and red highlights put through with foils to maximise what i already have, i love it and so does my hubby ^^.
