Leave laptop battery inside?

I just bought an Inspiron 1300, should I leave the battery inside or take it out? I use it on AC 99% of the time. Will the battery die faster if I keep it inside or are Li-ion batteries immune to this? I'm just worried it will keep charging the battery and wear it out.

Lithium batteries prefer to be kept charged up.

From my experience, leaving the battery in the machine whilst permanently/usually connected to AC power will kill the battery.

I always take my battery out once it's fully charged (with the machine switched off first!) if I want to continue using the laptop on mains power. It doesn't cost anything, and guarantees that the battery won't get !!!!ed up.
