Can anyone out there help me. Im not what you call Pc or Techie savy, so if you can tell me in laymans terms i'd really appreciate this.
This started 1 week ago after a few Wndows Updates and Microsoft Updates, though i dont think they are the problem. Im using them as a point of reference as to when i started getting problems with my PC. Since then my Microsoft Webcam VX-500 wont work and to get Live Messenger to work i have to Uninstall my Webcam, even then Live Messenger is prone to crashing. Other things like programs not responding are also happening. Ad Aware for example worked fine but now it wont run at all and i've had to uninstall this too. I cant remember what the explaination given to me was exactly as i've deleted it but it said something along the lines of 'The side by side configuration was wrong!' I hope this is enough information along with my Pc specs in arriving at a solution to a small but annoying problem. Thanks.

Well the first thing I'd do is create a restore point go to the start menu and click: programs>accessories>system tools> syetem restore, then click create restore point write something in the box eg 'fiddling with computer' so you'll be able to identify it if you want to get back to this point.
Next rewind your settings to last week (before the problems started) again programs>accessories>system tools> syetem restore, then select 'restore my computer to an earlier time' from the calendar choose the most recent date you can remember when everything worked (this will ininstall anything you have installed since but will not affect documents/pictures etc) and follow the instructions.
When it's done, see if things are working. if they are working, install the updates one at a time (checking to see if they mess things up inbetween).
If things are still not working I'd follow all the instructions in the malware sticky at the to of this forum incase you have picked up an infection. and / or reinstall the affected programs. (I've had adaware die on me before and had to reinstall it, not sure why).0
