Carmine is correct! I always cross reference my submitted meter readings (using the e-mail confirmation and my bill!) I don't work out my consumption though, i let my energy company do that!

Your bills are based on the meter readings you have given.
The OP was giving meter readings, but was aware they were being billed based on differing meter readings. That is when I would struggle to comprehend that a customer wouldn't then claculate the amount they had actually consumed and compared it with what they were billed."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
