Should I be worried?

I bought a couple of things from Clinton Cards today and realised I only had a bit of cash on me so I paid for them on my HSBC card so I didn't leave myself short and wasn't sure if there was a cashpoint in the shopping centre.
Anyway when I got my card out to pay I put it in the chip and pin machine as normal, the assistant messed about with it and told me to take the card out and put it back in as there was a problem with the server but if we tried again it should work. This time it worked and I put my pin in and everything went through fine.
I didn't even think to question it at the time but it was only when I got back to the car I started to think about the stories i've heard about cards being cloned.
I didn't put my pin in the first time but I don't suppose this matters. When I put it in on the 2nd attempt I made sure I had the keys well covered as usual.
Is there anything I should worry about with this happening? Would you suggest I contact my bank? I don't really want to mess about with my card unless really necessary and I might be worried about nothing.

Nothing to worry about. Server issues aren't uncommon, especially during peak time trading hours. However, if you spot anything strange on your credit card accounts give HSBC a call.0
