If staff have not had a choice in what trinng they recieve, or even if they are put forward for it, is it fair/legal/challengable if training is used in the scoring matrix?
We have four skills boxes (totalling 40 points) 3 of them mention training that at least 20 staff never knew existed. So the most scored can be 2! How can this be right?
They have still been doing the job everyday even though they never had the training.
Also qualifications is NVQ or eqivalent it doesn't stipulat a qualificatoin, therefore could/should experience be taken into consideration?

If training is not open to all staff, or that they have no control over the training that they could undertake, I would challenge this as part of the selection process.0

nvq or equivalent *qualification* does not mean experience, it means qualification. so, degree, diploma, etc
they can indeed discriminate on grounds of training received even if not everyone was offered it. harsh, but true. it would only be illegal if eg only all the women, or white people, or able bodied people, etc, were allowed to go on the training.Debt free 4th April 2007.
