Hardware support in W7 can still be an issue as a lot of the bugs still aren't ironed out by the manufacturers .. trust me I know.
7's support for hardware extends even further than what Vista did. Unfortunately, if your hardware isn't supported now then it's probably time to consider retiring it as the prospects aren't going to get any better for it.I wouldn't bother touching W7 until at least September next year (2010).
