Festival Tickets

Back in march i purchased 4 tickets for V festival + coach travel to the event, advertised as "22-23 Aug 2009" from seetickets.com.
I received a confirmation email at the time but nothing since so today i phoned up to enquire when i would receive the tickets. I was told that the coach travel had been allocated today and my coach would leave on the friday at 9.30am. This was the first i had heard about the coach travel leaving on the Friday (and apparantly returning on the monday) and i am unable to attend on the Friday at 2 weeks notice as i have to work (the monday is not so much a problem). The person i spoke to told me that the festival tickets are given on arrival by coach and therefore if i was not on the coach i would not be able to get my tickets to get into the festival. So i cannot even make my own way there friday night.
Seetickets were unwilling to offer a solution or a refund therefore i am stuck but dont want to loose my money (over £700 in all). I have checked my confirmation email which makes no reference to either the Friday or monday and clearly states "22-23 Aug 2009", which is sat-sun. I paid by Credit Card but am unsure if i am covered under section 75 or if this falls into the same loop hole as travel agents?
Please advise.

Contact Consumer Direct, they will be best to advise you on this matter.0

I would write a stern letter to see-tickets (send recorded) stating the facts, and that you would like a full refund of <insert amount> (assuming this is your preferred solution - otherwise suggest somethign else), otherwise you will have to take court action against them for the "product" being not as described.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I wouldn't normally say this but - phone in sick for work.
Or pretend you have an appointment early on the Friday morning and go to the bus depot and get your ticket then make your own way there.
Or tell work what happened to you and throw yourself on their mercy.

I wouldn't do this, what the OP has described could easily be covered by the companies T&C's, therefore it would do no favours to start making legal threats.0 -
Did it not say anywhere on the site about when the coach travel might have been? I would have thought that seetickets.com would have a clause somewhere that says 'coach travel may be up to 24 hours prior to event' or similar - insulating them from a refund claim such as yours.
Takoda's suggestion seems the wisest to me...0 -
I have just read the trough the terms and conditions and it does not mention the coach dates differing to the event dates advertised at all. Also i have just gone through the booking procedure for the staffordshire event all the way to payment stage with no mention of the dates varying due to the coach travel.
Ive never been to a festival before and didnt realise this is the norm, maybe that was a little nieve of me but surely it is the sellers responsibility to advertise this?
I cant call in sick on the friday, i manage a small team and already have interviews lined up for that day for a poistion i have advertised. It took me 3 weeks to get an Interview date lined up.
This is rediculous, if i had been made aware of this i would never have arranged the interviews for that date. This is misadvertisation by the seller, surely i have some form of recourse?0 -
4 tickets. Can at least one of the other ticket users not travel/pick up the tickets and then you could all meet up there?0

gordikin - thats what i might have to do, But was supposed to be me and my mate going + girlfriends.
Seems rediculous that ive paid extra for coach and may end up having to take car + pay even more for parking (if parking tickets are still available). Plus breaks up the group.
This was supposed to be a fun weekend and its been nothing but stress and its not even here yet. I would advise anyone not to deal with SeeTickets, they have done absolutely nothing to try and offer me any alternative and this is their screw up. At this point id probibly take a small loss just to get the situation resolved but guy i spoke to on phone was useless. Im tempted to contact my credit card company and see if there is anything they can do under section 75?0 -

I am pretty sure you would be covered for this by your credit card but check with them - hope you can sort things out.
Have to say that my daughter and her friends are going to the V festival and initially I am pretty sure it said you could get into the site from lunchtime on the Friday. Then it moved to 9am and looking again yesterday it is now open at 8am on the Friday. It would appear that they keep "moving the goalposts" so to speak. I have had to alter my arrangements twice now in order to get them there for when the gates open. It is irritating to say the least.0 -

Won't break up the group if one of your mates takes your tent with them on the bus and puts it up for you.
