glad to hear she is home, do not forget to reassure doggy no. 1 to help avoid jealousy

I have a little routine if I have been out I make all 3 sit and shake paws with me in pack order then they get a treat and kiss on head in pack order which is resintating me as mum and their individual place with in family, though happy chappy aka rolo has settled in with his adopted sisters very quickly and they have accepted him too,
I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.

Hi Everyone as most of you know I've now had my new doggie for about 3 weeks, we are feeding her twice a day but she still isn't putting weight on. The people who was looking after her before we got her said that she had been wormed. So what else could be the problem?

    Many thanks

    Steph xx
  • Young collies can be hard to get weight onto, especially if they are quite energetic. I would worm again to be on the safe side, some people worm monthly I think, (I don't) but I dont think milbemax is recommended for collies, so probably drontal... (ask your vet!)

You may want to look at her diet too - what is she on? Is her poo ok? Is she interested in food? Working dog foods are generally higher in protein and fat and can help put weight on, eg. Wagg worker or any other working dog food. CSJ seem to be very highly recommended, and started off as food specifically for working collies - http://www.csjk9.com/

Also, is she actually underweight? We are so used to seeing fat dogs we sometimes over estimate how heavy they should be!
