PS2/USB problem

Hello,
Wonder if someone can shed some light on my problem.
I have a computer with a USB keyboard.
I have a keyboard topper which I want to use with my keyboard that I used quite a few years ago with DD - see link
http://www.microsoft.com/MONEY/default.mspx
Now, it doesn't fit on either of my USB keyboards (the space bar is too deep or the rest in front of the space bar is too long). But I still have the old PS2 keyboard that it does fit on.
So with the aim of saving money and recycling, I decided to buy a PS2 to USB linky thing.
Now when I initially plugged it in, Windows XP said it needed drivers. So tried rebooting and it came up with "Keyboard failure" on set up screen and the keyboard didn't work.
Does anyone have any handy hints that might help?
Many thanks in advance

i wonder if the OP is refering to this:The link is for MS Money...right link?
[EDIT] i cant post links - type "keyboard topper dd" into google and the 3rd result down should be from amazon.com - this is the one i was refering to.
I suggest you connect the normal keyboard via the ps2 to usb converter and then let xp detect its attached and configer then reboot (just to be on the safe side). once you can use your normal keyboard via the ps2>usb converter, then reattach the keyboard topper and see what xp does.
at times xp can be a little arsey.
if not if you can provide a correct link i (or one of us) may be able to russle up some drivers for you to use.
oh and one other thought try plugging in the topper without it being clipped onto the olderstyle keyboard. (im a little foggy on the methods as i am unsure of what the keyboard topper is).
hope this helps.- Chez0 -
Apologies, I had a copy and paste failure there.
This is the keyboard topper

It doesn't require any installing or plugging in - it just sits on top of the keyboard so the child just presses the colourful buttons which push down on the real keys.
The PS2/USB thingee I bought was like this http://www.cablesdirect.com/prodimages/USB-PS2F_LR.jpg
The problem I am having is that XP won't recognise the keyboard (without the topper). It just comes up with a keyboard failure on booting.
Apologies for the bad description first time round - really appreciate any help?

Is the adaptor the same as the one in the picture? It says in the description it's for a PS2 mouse.0
