Sleepright/Carpetright

Right here is the saga
I brought a bed from Sleepright (which is located in my local Carpetright). The bed took two weeks to be delivered but when it arrived the mattress was ripped in two places. I paid alot of money for the bed so acfcepted the base but refused the mattress. I was told someone would be in touch within the next day.
No phonecall came so 3 days later went in Carpetright. The woman there said she would make some phoncalls and get back to me. She phones me back later that day to say she was trying to sort it out. When I mentioned a 'Goodwill gesture' she said that they were trying to find out who was at fault (delivery firm or warehouse).
Got a phonecall from manufacturers a couple of days later to say new mattress had been ordered but they wasnt able to tell me how long it would take to arrive.
4 weeks after original order I have gone back to Carpetright as have not heard anything else. Got told that mattress should be here next Friday and that I should have accepted the damaged one and asked for it to be swopped????
Once again asked about a 'Goodwill Gesture' and got told they dont do compensation??
So they can get away with poor customer service and faulty goods with no come back for the customers??
How is that right?? I am soooo annoyed :mad::mad:

Personally I would have refused both base and mattress as they come as a divan set, and they were not of merchantable quality. Then asked for a replacement within seven days, or a refund.
As you have accepted the base then wait until the day they say they will deliver, but if it doesn't turn up then tell them that you would like the base taken away, and to receive a full refund. Put this in writing to them today.0
