What is the best external/portable hard drive?

Hi there

At the moment I am on a second replacement Iomega portable hard drive (40GB) which has given up on me like the first one I had. Thankfully, I have made a back-up of all the stuff that was on it before it went kaput!

I'd be grateful for any suggestions as to what is a reliable external/portable drive, that isn't going to go die on me within 1 year! I am ideally looking for something which has a capacity of 40-60GB and something that will last the test of time!

I think you will have difficulty finding anything below 80gigs in capacity.

I think Western Digital, Maxtor and Seagate make reasonable external HDs. Wouldn't recommend anything else.
