Business Account Problems!

I posted a few weeks back with the problems I was having with my Barclays Business Account and the dire service I was experiencing with the Business Manager.
I have made up my mind that as soon as I come back from my holidays and sorted myself out, that I would do further research and move my account elsewhere.
The problem that I am having at the moment is that I left an Administrator in charge to sort out collecting payments on my behalf whilst I am away. The last remaining monies that he was to collect from the students who just finished a course was to be paid into my Business Account last week, but unfortunately due to a Family bereavement he was and is still unable to deposit the cheques. This has left me in a predicament as the Tutor who wrapped up the course is due to be paid tomorrow from my Account and was counting on the money.
I contacted the Barclays Business Manager to explain the situation(but don't know why I bothered) as he has been totally useless and unhelpful from the day I opened my Business Account. He said that he would try to sort out a temporary overdraft within the 48hrs when I contacted him on Monday, and as I did not hear from him I had to contact him myself today. He then says that he is still working on it and that there would be no guarantees whatsoever.
I explained that it would help if Barclays were a bit more flexible considering the situation, and that when I wanted to arrange an overdraft facility before I went away I had to waste my time and energy sorting out the mess that Barclays had done to my Business Account which was no fault of my own.
I don't know what to do and I told him that I would be prepared to go overdrawn in this instance and sort out the charges when I get back to the UK, as I am expecting over £3000 in further payments within the first week in September.
Are some Banks very unhelpful like this? Or do some Banks if they want to go out of their way to help new Business Customers do something to help, in such a situation like this?
The Administrator was to deposit £500 into the account last week, but as the Tutor needs to be paid I will be overdrawn by £350.
Can anyone advise on the next step I can take.

Don't want to appear heartless but I can't see why the administrator cannot pay some cheques in. When dealing with a bereavement you end up collecting a death certificate, visiting undertakers sorting out bank accounts and so on. Although you may not feel like doing these things they have to be done and it is hard to see why he (or someone else) cannot drop into a bank to pay in your cheques.0

Why not visit him and collect the cheques and deposit them yourself0

If I could collect the cheques I would, but it doesn't help that I am abroad at the moment and will not be back until next month, hence the predicament. I have left countless messages and emails, but am unable to get through to the Administrator.
That is why I explained the situation to the Business Manager and he said that he will try to see what he could do in order to put a temporary overdraft in place but not guaranteed. I was hoping that he could do something in the mean time, so that I could sort out everything whilst I get back.
The tutor was counting on the money to be paid in tomorrow, and would be unfair for her to have to wait all this time,so that was why I just wanted to know what to do as this has come unexpectedly.0 -
Did not realise that you are out of the country for a month.
I wonder what would happen if you actually spoke to the Business Centre at Barclays and asked them (if they are like Lloyds TSB they will have a commercial arm that deals purely with businesses) - ask them not to put you through to your particular business manager ask for a different one.
I wonder what they would do if you threatened to close your account?
Is there anyone else in the business who you can ask to see if they can pick up these cheques and deposit them into the bank? I think that you may have to take a hit with the overdraft if you cannot get it sorted in time.0 -
The basics here are anyone considering Barclays for their business account needs their bumps felt. Have to be the worst business bank I have ever dealt with and none of them are that good.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0
