Hey Guys,
Just wanted opinions on the Halifax reward account.
I have a Barclays Premier with £1000 overdraft and was thinking of switching.
Cheers All.

Do you use the features on the Barclays account? Otherwise you're wasting £25 a month for a bank account, when you could be making £5. I tried opening a Halifax account, but they declined because they couldn't see me on the electoral role, even though Experian and Equifax confirms I'm on it and I know I'm on it.0

Definitelt the HBOS or BOS URCA is the best option, far outweighing any other providers.
PS if youre rating is suitable you may even get a nice juicy overdraft :-)0 -
I'd forget the value added fee charging accounts and have a Halifax Reward account, assuming you don't use an overdraft and pay in £1,000 a month.
The £60 a year in incentive payments can more than cover an annual family travel insurance policy, and most of the other benefits of fee charging accounts are overpriced.
Forget the Additions. Forget the Ultimate Reward. Just take the Reward. If you need some of the other benefits of a packaged account, buy them on a stand-alone basis.0 -

With a joint account the main benifits are doubled each person gets them
Annual WW policy cover individuals/families traveling to different places at the same time.
Also with the account policies you get continuous cancellation cover
Something you might not get with annual policies if you book across the renewal date( eg someone gets ill on the first policy seems ok so you renew ,then have to cancell later, this will now be an existing condition so might not be covered by the renewal.
Then add RAC european breakdown for 2 people in any car seperately.
add on top some usefull but not necessary insurances.
cardholder protection may come in handy to get lost/stolen cards cancelled en-masse if away.0
