Just thought i would share the text i just recieved from Barclaycard (bearing in mind i told them contact by letter only)

"Your barclaycard account is 2 months overdue. Your credit rating is now being affected by this debt please call us to discuss your options."

A if they accepted my token payment they would have had some money instead of none....

B I'm going bankrupt so my credit rating is mud, and about to become a lot worse

Simple solution, don't give them your mobile number. Only (close) friends and the (odd- sometimes very odd) family member have mine.

I went BR because of Barclays constant hassle!!!

When they rang I would tell them "Nothing has changed from earlier that day or previous day" and would hang up the phone BUT they still continued to call..

They even tried to persuade me to borrow off friends/family or any spare credit!!!

In the End I wrote a stiff letter quoting OFT / CCA harassment and I just rec'd letters.

They didn't even believe me when I told them I went BR!!!
  • They are a nusance arent they, I had three texts in one day ,one of them was asking another another person to call ,wrong name , I must admit it did panic me that someone else had Barclay card debts at this address, but maybe it was just a trick to get us to call, I often get the calls one after the other within minutes there is often no one on the line straight away so I just hang up!!
  • I have been getting them from barclays and mercers (who have supposidly took barclays debts on!)
One from mercers today said if you dont contact us we will visit your home.
    Cheek!

It's my old number, i just keep the phone switched on in a drawer at home to see how many calls come in etc.

    There has been heaps :rotfl:

There was a tv prog on these debt chasers and their tactics for getting people to pay up.

The disregard in training these people and the attitude of management knowing the tricks and the "insinuations" of what that might do to get their money!!!!

"Barclays" are not on my Christmas Card list !!!!!!!! They need to be told off by a regulator!!!!!
