I hope this is the right place for this post, but if not please move to it's rightful place:D. I am currently trying to put together a smallish group of people from work, who want to do somekind of 'roadtrip' from the top to bottom of france on scooters, and raise a little bit of money for a local charity as well.
We have about 16 days available next year to do it in. I am trying to begin on making some kind of itinery to ensure we get there on time, but also to enjoy some activities on the way, eg wine tasting, wateractivities, horse riding etc.
We are camping on-route, with a large recovery van for broken machines/spares/carrying gear, and to get the gear home when we finish.
What i would like to ask is how is the best way of doing this, as France is a big place and i have never been before.
Anyone have any suggestions/ tips/ websites that may help me with this, as i seem to of been left with all this to do:o
Many thanks if you can help........
PS. i think that small bikes would not be allowed on the autoroutes in france, but if someone could varify this that would be brilliant....thanks..

Perhaps first have a think about how many hours in a day you want to be on the road.
Do you want to do short road days, long road days, or medium days?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I find the Via Michelin route planner useful for planning European trips.0

I'm not sure how long we need to be on the road for per day, but i think that about 8hrs minimun, to give us enough time to fit in other activities, but this is purely a guess. I think that maybe some days will be longer than others. The more direct route, would give us more free time, but we don't want to be constantly looking at the time to make sure we are on schedule, if you see what i mean:D
Thanks Keith, trying to find an interesting route away from major roads is not easy with out prior knowledge, i have been told that google earth is a good start, but i don't have this on my computer yet, but will download it later on.Not ashamed to say ABBA are Great :j0
