Hey everyone!

I am in desprate need of some Office 2007 advice...

I downloaded the Office Ultimate Office 2007 suite under the Ultimate Steal offer about 10 months ago. I have recently been having major issues with Word, it constantly crashes and I therefore want to re-install it.

Heres my problem...I didnt get an installation CD as the program was downloaded. I have the Product Key but how can I re-download it? I thought about downloading a trail and then putting my Key in to unlock the full version. Anyone know if this works as I would have to uninstall it first?

Not sure, ring Microsoft on 0870 60 10 100 to see what options are available..

Can you not try and repair the installation through the control panel?

Or click on the Microsoft logo at the top left hand corner, click on word/excel etc options and run a diagnostic test to repair problems?

FYI didn't mean to thank you for the post ment to hit quote :rolleyes:.

My GF and I used the same deal last year, as we're both students, she recently bought a new laptop and entered the registration key into the trial version of MS but it didn't work, this was on the student edition and not the ultimate version.

If you got time though it may be worth downloading the ultimate trial version and giving that a go.

You downloaded something special and did not copy to CD, beats me......

As far as I know I think you may be able to redownload it but I'm not 100% sure, if you relogin to your digital river account via the link you were sent by email when you originally ordered it.

Have you tried the 3 most common fixes for Word issues?

1. Find and delete all versions of normal.dot on you hard disc

2. Change your default printer to something else (honest!)

3. Make the following change to the registry

Close Word (and Outlook)
Start / Run and type regedit
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data
Delete this key.
Restart Word

This last one solved a similar problem for me.

By the way, the answer is yes. That is how I got Office 2007 in the first place 2 years ago. Download it as a trial, and then put in the product key which you bought. So just download the file and try to install over the top of the existing installation. It should also give you the option to repair.

Your key might not work with one of the other versions. Check your private message box. (Just sent the OP the direct link for Ultimate.)
