Why is it that every kids film seems to be 3D these days?
Looks like a blatant attempt to get a few more quid out of the customer for the 3D glasses. Some of the films I've seen havent made any difference at all being 3D.
In fact, I'm glad some cinemas show the 2D version as well. My son just gets irritated with the glasses...

The film companies say they like them because they cannot be pirated. That is partially true, but the main reason is they can charge more money. Some film studios are suggesting up to 75% of films will be 3D in the future. I certainly hope not, I found it cool the first time but the novelty soon wore off and the 3D just became irritating.0

The price will become irrelevant once the novelty wears off.
Supply and Demand. (Going to the cinema will always become annually more expensive anyway!)
good luck to the film companies trying to thwart the pirates!0 -
We were in Florida earlier this years and in the parks almost all attraction film shows were in 3D. Then we went to see Monsters V Aliens in 3D. Must admit by the end of it we were fed up of the 3D. Seen one thing flying towards you then you've seen 50. No imagination at all. I know cartoons don't tend to have great direction or indeed storylines half the time but the recent trend in 3D have reduced even this to a excuse to use the same special effects in every film.0

Last time I went to the cinema the 3d viewing cost the same as the 2d.
That being said, I didn;'t much care for M vs A 3d. The 3d shorts they have at disney are far better and more immersive, but then they are basically plotless tech demos, where 3d films have to have a story and be watchable in both forms.0 -

Ah. I see what you mean about the pirating aspect.
I must admit I find it annoying now to have to wear the glasses.0 -

Really. So you didnt have to pay £1.50 or so extra for the glasses?0 -
I do think that if you have got a pair of glasses you should get areduction- I know it costs more for the film and the screen but if they had different rates for if you have glasses already might help a bit for rgular customers0

Nope, cos I wasn't meant to keep them lol
But Vue is expensive enough anyway, so it didn't cross my mind that they could have charged extra. I just paid the usual rate for the tickets.0 -
I pay the extra to watch the 3D version - its great. Not everyones eyes can process 3D, especially if you have 1 eye a lot weaker than the other (which my bf suffers from).Squish0
