To be honest, I wouldn't expect to have to agree to the full cost of repairs, and for the buyers to be after another £1k, they're trying their luck.
I was gobsmacked when our estate agent told me what they wanted knocking off the price of our property - all they've done is get our backs up, especially since we think were being more than reasonable with our offer so far.Tahiti wrote:As for the "new house", I'd run through the precise issues with the surveyor. If he has problems with the quality of the actual extension construction, then you need to know what and why before you can know whether you can afford to stick with it...
Hope you get it sorted soon!
I've asked our solicitor to put our purchase on hold for the moment (to stop any further costs) just until we know exactly what were dealing with. The report should be with us by Tuesday next week so it's gong to be a long weekend.
Thank you for all your advice , it's really appreciated.0 -

Re your property, have another visit, maybe bring someone with no emotional attchment to help you?
Were going to wait (very hard) until Tuesday for the report and then take it from there. I have spoken with our Bank Manager today (unrealeted issue) and i just mentioned about the survey and she's offered to have a look at the survey when we receive it and give us her opinion on it. Apparently she's had some experience with surveys in the past, so it should be of some help to us.0 -
Our sale of our property now seems to be resolved
They are happy with the reduction in the selling price we've offered -- now for the wait for our survey!!0
