Having someone paying off your mortgage as you own more and more of a property would be fantastic if there was no risk involved.
But non-paying tennants is one of those risks, a risk you can reduce but not eliminate0 -

Libel laws in the UK are draconian. The first LL to wrongly register someone on such a database would be bankrupted. It won't happen.0

It already *is* happening , alongside the "name & shame" house boards that have been previously discussed on here. . See Artful's post above for one example but I don't intend to offer free advertising for the other one's URL.bristol_pilot wrote: »Libel laws in the UK are draconian. This is common sense and it !!!!es me off no end landlords thinking they have a god given right to extract money from tenants with no responsibilities, work or risk.
On the subject of this register it doesn't really bother me, but if there was to be a central register of non-paying tenants there needs to be a register of landlords who fail to maintain properties/harass tenants/don't understand tenancy law/withhold deposits on spurious grounds etc etc.0 -

That one is easily sorted - off you gomy crap agents not no there.
