The Argos website does not mention that these are Microsoft. Can anyone who has purchased these confirm the brand?0 -

I've got to second that ... just installed one of the pair, and considering it's £7.50, the quality is really good. Tried it on MSN and I have no complaints at all !
The free software which comes with it ( Ulead Photo Explorer,Ulead Photo Express, Video Mail, Video Monitor, Ulead Cool 360 & Viewer ) is pretty good as well.0 -
And don't forget that for £17.99 delivered (or less?) you can get Eye Toy Play for the PS2 with a camera which can be used, with the right driver, on a PC.
It's slightly more, but it has a built in mic and if you could also use it as intended on a PS2 as a bonus

Got mine last night, thanks, the software has a security monitor which may record movement to the hard disc, so ideal as a security cam too.
Took one apart as there are holes for a microphone on the camera, under the lens. However the microphone is missing, yet all the parts are on the circuit board, ( so may try to solder condenser microphone in later). The box mentions a sound card yet the instructions dont.:wall:
The cameras appear to be a job lot made in China for Argos, the Sonix number is that of the chip, the only other number ARG MK9 2NW which I thought was the manufactures model number for their Mark 9 version, turns out to be The Argos HQ Postcode in Milton Keynes:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Googling the Sonix number gets you lots of LINUX drivers for anyone interested.ac's lovechild0 -
