Collection tins in shops

Hi,
Are there any regulations governing putting collecting tins in shops/pubs, as my local pub's landlord said she would be happy for me to do it, but I wanted to know if there are any other regulations I have to adhere to.
I am one of the directors of the charity it would be collecting for, so there wouldn't be any problems on that front as far as I can see, though I haven't quite worked out the rules concerning counting the money as well.
Cheers for any advice you can offer..

As the collection box will be on private premises, there are no regulations covering these boxes, except that they must show your charity registration number. The box should have a closed lid and be sealed. It's good practice to sign and date the seal at the time the box in istalled and, of course, have it attached to the bar!
There are no rules concerning counting the money, but good practice in relation to handling cash should be observed. The Charity Commission has a useful self checklist on all aspects of charity financial controls here:
