I'm stumped. Does anyone have an LD DVD HDD Recorder. I have been trying for the last few days to be able to record with the timer or video plus. I have followed the manual exactly and it even saying on the timer record list that the programme is ok. Yet on the digital display there is suppose to be a little clock that lights up to say that it has the timer set - but it's not doing it. It will do a manual record (to record straight away) and the Player isn't faulty as we thought it could be so we had it exchange but it still isn't doing it.
Any suggestions from someone that has one would be great thanks.

Hi
I'm assuming you have the LG RH7500 or RH7800
According to the manual (page 42) the recorder must be in standby mode for the light to be displayed
"The timer indicator lights in the display window
when the recorder is in standby with the timer
active."
So maybe try setting the timer then putting the recorder in standby mode...
Another option - this may sound obvious but is the clock on your dvd recorder set correctly?

That is the one I have, I must have skipped that bit when reading the manual. I will go and try it again ow. The clock is right as it has an automatic clock adjustment.
Watch this space huh.
Thanks

Well well well, I knew it must be something simple that I was doing wrong but not that simple. Dohhhh.
Thank you so much - it has been driving me crackers.

From your reply am I right in assuming that you too also have this machine. When I was connecting all the cables there were lots of audio etc sockets in the back of it but I didn't know how to or what to connect them to. When I looked at the ones on the back of the DVD Player to what it said in the book, the sockets in my Plasma were completely different so I left them off and just operated things like the volume from my TV.
The only probably with this is that you can't alter the volume on the DVD Player itself. So if the volume is low I have to turn the TV right up.
Don't suppose you would know or can explain in (going from the above posts) simple termsTopCashback £1792.63My Little World0 -
Sorry I dont have that particular DVD recorder myself - I went on the LG website and that was the only model of DVD recorder I could find - i just downloaded the manual and looked at that.
The connections depend on your plasma tv - what is the make and model?
What other equipment do you have connected to the TV and DVD recorder?
I dont think you have any way of adjusting volume on the dvd recorder

Oh. The tv is a Hyundai 42 inch plasma. It has one scar which goes through to a 3 way switcher box which is connected to freeview and the dvd recorder and a dvd player.
I will have a look again tonight see if the simpleton in me has worn off.
Thanks againTopCashback £1792.63My Little World0 -
I have the 7500 model.. did you update to the newest firmware?? it takes the start up time from 15 seconds to just 8 seconds and also fixes the sound bug as well. It worked for me with a few of my dvds that had low sound.0

ohh no I haven't done anything like that. What's firmware????TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0

Firmware is the recorders "operating system". You can update it and it can help fix bugs and things.. In the case of the LG 7500 it helped the volume bug (not completely) as well as the startup time and playback options.0
