Original renewal price £535 from the Halifax, (been with them 12yrs without one claim) went online to insuresupermarket, got a quote off the Halifax for £295 which I accepted and paid for.

Then received an email of Home Protect, who insurers are Lloyds, and whose offer I didn't take online, spoke to this company on the phone, got the same cover for home & contents which the Halifax were offering, but am now paying £190 per year, Needless to say I cancelled the Halifax insurance.

A massive saving of £345 off the original price

Great! I thought I'd done well till I read yours. I've been with Norwich Union Direct for years and was paying £322. Used insuresupermarket to get cheapest quote which was MoreThan, then went through Quidco to MoreThan. Got virtually identical cover for £178 and hopefully £40 cashback.
