just wondering when did you get the news you got the interview? i.e. how long after you submited your application?0 -
Are you in a permanent job at the moment? If not you might like to find out which agency they use and apply to them saying you are particularly interested in working for the NHS. Even as a temp you can build up experience of the NHS.I had an interview with the NHS on Tuesday but I didn't get it because there was someone with more NHS experience. Story of my life tbh.
They probably use different agencies for different types of role, so check this with HR. They will also probably have more than one agency who provide general administrative/PA temps but one of them will be the preferred supplier.0 -
well i have worked for the NHS now for just over 3 years and there are a great group to work for not like what the americans think.i am only a housekeeper but there are so many good people there.
as for agency the one my local NHS uses the staff have to be with us for 13 weeks minimum b4 they are offered a perm contract otherwise the NHS get a huge fine.

Yes - agencies do charge organisations a fee if a temp is taken onto the permanent staff. The fee tapers off over time and, I believe, reduces to nothing at some point. (I think this is now a legal requirement but I may be wrong: it used often to be in agency t&c.)
For the catz1ct, the point of going to an agency, would be to get the NHS experience. Also various parts of the NHS will have their own relationships with agencies - so there wouldn't be a fee if, with experience with one trust you were employed by another (as long as there was no direct introduction).0
