Sally, as someone who is totally carp at anything remotely crafty and arty I think its a great idea..

I read somewhere that you will never make any money doing something you don't like, so doing something you do like is bound to make you rich...

oh, blimey Sal - go for it.

    I'd be number 1 customer :D

I have an example of something that would have been perfect. Over 10 years ago, me and the ex bought an Art Deco style chaise longue, it had a lovely blue 1930s pattern - kind of a bit like a Chinese willow pattern plate with storks and trees, but was a bit worn but was a lovely shape. Inside was a pull out double sofa bed (hence the 'style' bit!!). It used to be in the spare room, my sister stayed once and bent the frame as she pulled it out and it was relegated to the shed - it sat there for about 8 years.

OH got rid of a load of stuff recently - including that - it went to the tip :(. With a bit of TLC and a re-upholstering, I reckon it would have sold for a good £300-£400. It cost £80 from a little shop in Wimborne.

Sal i think you should definitely try to make a few pieces and take photos of them for future reference, but not necessarily need to build up a big stock to sell... commision pieces at reasonable prices would sell just as well....

holding stock means paying for storage or finding space at home....

Where would you work? You'd probably need to take over the dining table and work from there... Bea could eat in the kitchen... your breakfast bar is comfy!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Would this be too far east for you to travel each week?

We aren't doing upholstery this term which is a shame.

I would def have to start small and do a few bits and bobs to get me started. I could probably tidy out the shed and do some stuff in there, things like chairs, chest of drawers etc. I mean have a look at this

bit of love and care and if I had a shop could stick it main display with cushions, fabrics etc around and easily get £200 for it :)

I bought Beas bed off ebay for around £90 from memory which is similar and its so sturdy and you couldn't buy anything new for that price
