Sorry for having two threads running, I think you're allowed a maximum of two anyway.
On to the question.
I recently sold a bundle of three England clothes on ebay - listing them as in good but worn condition with a few bobbles and such here and there. When it came to packing them I realise I've either totally messed up and not seen it or snagged it at some point because there is now a big pull resulting in a small hole down the front of the top.
I've sent them a message saying you can have a partial refund and have the other two items, a full refund or if there's any other way we can sort this them I'm happy to oblige.
Is that the best way to go about sorting this sort of thing?
Thanks.

That sounds ideal and as you have offered them a choice of options hopefully it will turn out OK.
I did the same with a book a few months ago, listed it as good, mentioned some creasing to spine but when it came to pack the book I realised I had completely overlooked a pen dedication on the fly leaf. Buyer took the book anyway and I refunded part of the money and they left me very positive feedback. Alternatively you could refund a third of the cost and suggest you sent the third item anyway, as that way they can see you have a genuine reason for not selling.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks, just a bit worried because I looked in their feedback and they've left a few negatives but then they were for item not recieved and no refund given by seller so I should be ok.
Thanks again, that;s put my mind at rest a bit.0 -
Things like that happen, if you had a vase and it broke they would have to accept a refund. Its jsut one of those things.
hopefully if they are fair they will leave good FB for your honesty. It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'

I would have offered them the option of a partial refund and all three items (including the damaged one)Sorry for having two threads running, I think you're allowed a maximum of two anyway.

... perhaps an extra small discount (if appropriate) for any postage saved if they agree they only want the 2 good items
... and as you have done the option of a full refund for no items.
That way the buyer is left as sure as can be that there is no funny business going on."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
