"My Aim: £4.3m in savings"
I think thats possibly somewhat optimistic ;-)0 -
Ask him try the bank he is with at the moment and to apply for the c/c in the branch !!
The reason me saying this is the decision in almost all cases are instant in the branch, and also if he is approved then all the aggrements etc is signed there and then in the branch itself !! Also he can request them for a faster delivery, this worked for me when i applied for my c/c with lloyds, applied and signed all the paperwork in the branch and the card and pin arrived within 4 working days flat :T from the day of the actual application !!0 -

my fastest card to arrive was the post office, which from applying online to receiving the card was under a week (6 days i think)
it was certainly faster than any of the other credit cards i hold or had in the past (ie than lloyds amex, halifax, mint, natwest, egg, santander zero,mbna whiteroom vip card, capital one platinum etc)MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -

Barclaycard Platinum gave my decision right away, and the card with me within 5 days (working) Bare in mind there are needs to be met with this card, but by far the fastest for me.
Slowest possible is LTSB 6 weeks.0 -

Exactly the other way around in my case, was accepted instantly with Lloyds Tsb, got the card in absolutely no time !!
slowest was indeed barclaycard !! Also for their poor customer service and ridiculous policies it is best to avoid barclaycard :rolleyes:0 -

BCP is a nice snooze card though at the mo. If you don't plan on using it, you won't have much hassle with their CS. I personally hate ALL out-sorced CS banks, but at 0% for 12 months, Im grinning and baring lol0 -

Well the Lloyds Tsb Platinum is 0% for 12 months on BT and 0% on purchases for 3 months at the moment, with the bonus of having an all U.K. call centre !! Now that brings a grin on my face0 -
